Bridges, Software Engineering, and God

In this article, the author describes why software engineering is different from other forms of engineering. The author claims that while other forms of engineering are engineering in the physical world based on "God's rules" (physics), software engineers are engineering in a human-created world ("God didn't create x86"). The author additionally distinguishes software engineering from math.
