Facebook scientists say they can now tell where deepfakes have come from

This article describes deepfake detection software created by Facebook and Michigan State. The software is able to determine not only if an image is a deepfake, but also can identify the AI that created the deepfake. The article describes the importance of being able to detect deepfakes on social media as well as some ways in which this software may not work as well as anticipated when it is used “in the wild.”
