Have Autonomous Vehicles Hit A Roadblock?
Source: Neil Howe
This article argues that despite promises to have fully autonomous vehicles hit the roads around 2021-2022, the reality is that they will not be ready until closer to 2030. The article cites three main reasons for this--the technology isn't ready, the regulations aren't ready, and the public isn't ready--and dives deep into each of the reasons. The article concludes that while autonomous vehicles are currently proving useful in certain specific situations, commercial use of autonomous vehicles by everyday drivers is still a long way off.
