Owning Ethics: Corporate Logics, Silicon Valley, and the Institutionalization of Ethics

In this article, the authors study the attempts to institutionalize ethics within Silicon Valley tech companies. Through interviewing those responsible for thinking through ethics in technology companies, they uncover the other commitments that the commitment to ethics is in tension with. They call for further questioning of how to "do ethics" in a more critical, just, and open manner.
