“Repugnant” online discussions are not illegal thoughtcrime, court rules

This article describes a court ruling about disturbing sexual fantasies posted online. A US Federal Court of Appeals ruled that it is not criminal to post about sexual fantasies, no matter how disturbing, online because they do not prove real criminal intent. A New York police officer who posted online that he wanted to rape, kidnap, and eat women he knew was thus not charged with a crime.
