U.S. House unanimously approves sweeping self-driving car measure

This article describes a unanimous approval by the US House of Representatives in 2017 to speed the deployment of self-driving cars by putting federal regulators in the drivers seat and barring states from blocking autonomous vehicles. While automakers, business groups, and advocates for the blind supported the House measure, others argued that the measure did not do enough to ensure the safety of self-driving vehicles.
