In this article, the author expresses their opinion on why Edward Snowden is a hero. The article describes what Snowden's leaks contained--information that the NSA is surveilling average American citizens who have no connection to terrorism, and that the NSA has access to vast amounts of data from US Internet companies and Internet networks. The author argues that because this puts American civil liberties at risk, Snowden is a hero for leaking this information.
